The Nice Côte d'Azur Archives service offers an online consultation on https://archives.nicecotedazur.org/
The online layout concerns a collection of written, graphic (plans) or iconographic documentation (photographs, postcards, prints) varied, i.e. thousands of references on architectural heritage, urban planning, seaside tourism or even Carnival. This new site is both:
- A new generation research tool inarchives, whether digitized or not, in accordance with the standards of European archives or libraries (the bases are already referenced on the portal of the Ministry of a Culture "FranceArchives" and the European archives portal, and will soon be integrated on the "Europeana" portal and the "Collections" engine of the Ministry of Culture). With thematic or topographical research, this tool has been designed for audiences who need simplicity, intuitivity, graphic tools and who are used to commercial search engines.
- A showcase of the cultural action ofthe Archives, with topics such as "the exhibition of the moment", "Nice Life of the Neighbourhoods", educational files, a background in honor etc. The site provides access to information on various tools, such as tablets and smartphones, regardless of their operating system. Ergonomics designed to allow everyone to access it without difficulties.
This site is therefore intended to address the community of researchers from all over the world, the curious history of Nice and the generalpublic. It will allow as many people as possible, From Nice, residents, tourists, distant friends, to discover the riches of the archives since 1176 as well as the cultural offer of the establishment.
