Auguste Escoffier gained worldwide notoriety for codifying and modernizing French cuisine, giving it an international reputation. He streamlined tasks in the kitchen and constantly sought to improve working conditions.
Beyond this image of "Cook of kings and King of cooks", Auguste Escoffier was a humanist and a precursor, as evidenced by his many initiatives in the fields of the transmission of knowledge, mutual and providence, the fight against pauperism.
Less known to the general public, his altruism will nevertheless guide his actions throughout his life.
It is this man of heart, whose life went through two wars in the midst of the industrial revolution that Fabrice Roy invites you to discover in the documentary-conference "Auguste Escoffier: a social vision".
