EXHIBITION "Reflection of inventory" at the Heritage Centre - The Senate
28 JUNE - 31 DECEMBER 2021
Until December 2021, the City of Nice invites you to discover the exhibition "Reflet d'inventaire" at the Centre du Patrimoine – Le Sénat.
In connection with the candidacy of Nice for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the City of Nice has been carrying out since 2016 the inventory of its architectural and landscape heritage of the resort, over the period from 1860 to 1975. The City of Nice is therefore part of the continuity of this vast national enterprise, the General Inventory of Monuments and Artistic Riches of France, initiated by Minister André Malraux in 1964.
"Reflet d'inventaire" reveals the methods and professions of the discipline and mirrors the documentation necessary for the mission of inventory and the views of contemporary artists on the city through drawings and photographs.
"And that is why we hope to carry out what could not be carried out for a hundred and fifty years: the inventory of the artistic riches of France has become an adventure of the spirit."
Preface by André Malraux,Minister of Cultural Affairs, to the report of André Chastel, Professor of Art History at the Sorbonne, on the establishment of the General Inventory of Monuments and Artistic Riches of France, 1964
