THE SKALIPSOULS

Rock Steady, Ska - Reggae
It was in 1995 that the adventure began for Lord Skalipsoul and his group Alert in Skalibu! After many first parts like the famous Skatalites, Max Romeo, Gladiators, Israel Vibration, Mad Professor, LKJ, the Scofflaws, Hepcat, Patrice, Jim Murple Memorial etc,
the band signed with Mercury-Universal in 2000 until 2003.
In 2007 Lord Skalipsoul turned to the roots of Jamaican music, calypso, and under the name King Selewa (and his calypsonians), signed two albums and numerous compilations on the prestigious English label of world music: Arc Music, until 2009!
In 2010, again under the name King Selewa, he signed with the Cezame Music Agency label and released an album "Jamaican Roots".
It was in 2016 that King Selewa-Lord Skalipsoul decided to return to service, under the influence of his very first guitarist, Vlad e., and thus formed The Skalipsouls, a band distilling a clever mix of ska 60's and revival, steady rock, reggae, mix combining compositions and covers, for your greatest pleasure!

RASPIGAOUS

With "We Let Go, Drop Nothing", the first single from his new album to be released on October 4, Raspigaous comes to write a new page in its history, more than 15 years after the release of "Hot Time" and "Dogs of the Quays" (sold at the time to more than 40,000 exemps ( This first title, shared at the end of May on the networks, gives the color of his music always as festive and militant. A few months before the release of "New R", this first extract is also preparing a major crowdfunding campaign that will allow the group to continue to build its course independently.
The reggae band made in Marseille took the time to produce this new album, still written and composed by the founder of the band, Lionel "Léo" Achenza and recorded by Denis "Rastyron" Denis for several months in Port de Bouc (13) at Studio K. For this new chapter, he has surrounded himself with musicians from The Handcart, well known to fans of his Jamaican for having accompanied Groundation or Pablo Moses. The result: 12 reggae, roots, ska, ultra vitamin songs that denounce "ave the accent", the drifts of our so-called developed world... encouraging citizens to act and react.
To accompany them on this adventure, they once again embarked the former manager of K2R Riddim, Cédric Claquin, and the indecent label Aïlissam to sign with them this 'New R'. The Raspi are also planning a new tour in the fall of 2019 before signing their big return to the festival stages in the summer of 2020.
