From 8 to 10 June 2022, Cannes is once again hosting, at the Hespérides stadium, the International Jumping, after two years of absence due to Covid. Cannes jumping is one of the most important in the world. It is a major stop on the Longines Global Champions Tour. This unmissable horse show on the Cannes event and sports calendar combines elegance and high-level sport. In addition, it is part of the ambitious "Cannes, capital of outdoor sport" program launched in 2016 by David Lisnard, which aims in particular to promote the practice of sport and the organization of quality sports events throughout the municipal territory.

Jumping, an unmissable equestrian event for 39 years

The first Cannes International Jumping was organized in 1982 in the Hespérides district. It has become a must and is part of a long and rich tradition of equestrian disciplines in Cannes, notably transmitted by English winterers in the nineteenth century.

The Jumping returns for a 39th edition from Thursday 2 to Saturday 4 June 2022. During these three days, the best riders in the equestrian world will follow one another at the Hespérides stadium, in the Pointe Croisette sector. The Cannes leg is the seventh of the Longines Global Champions Tour, the international equestrian show jumping competition.

In 2019, this competition brought together 120 competitors and more than 12,600 spectators, proof of its success with the public.

Encouraging the practice of sport, creating and improving sports infrastructure

This annual event is fully in line with the "Cannes, capital of outdoor sport" program launched in April 2016 by David Lisnard to encourage Cannes residents to practice sport.

This municipal approach is also reflected in the creation and renovation of sports facilities in all municipal districts to allow clubs and associations to benefit from sites and premises consistent with their activities and improve the quality of reception of users.

Thus, the Hespérides stadium, which hosts this prestigious competition, benefits from modernization work undertaken by the municipality since 2017. The first two phases of these operations allowed, among other things, the creation of a new removable synthetic field, an 8,600 m2 asphalt, a 760 m2 underground retention basin to regulate the water supply in the rainwater collector, the replacement of the lighting of the field and the renovation of the multi-activity room. The third phase, scheduled for delivery before the competition, includes: the renovation of the stand, the rehabilitation of the changing rooms, the construction of a sanitary block, the construction of a club house for the resident football association (Olympique Suquétan Cannes Croisette) and the development of green space areas to enhance the site.

In addition, as every year, the City of Cannes provides logistical and financial support to the association J.F.B International Horse Show for the good holding of this event which contributes to the international, sporting and tourist influence of Cannes and the Côte d'Azur. http://www.jumpingcannes.com/
