The book
Pierre has always had a complicated relationship with his mother Simone. This one, a personality as extravagant as authoritarian and possessive, has just died. She demanded in her will that her son continue to run his old Renault, an old-fashioned car whose registration card he neglected in his mother's name. He continues with delight the speeding, and Simone's driving license sees his points melt, until he is offered a road rehabilitation course ...
In his aunt's retirement home, Pierre then meets the petulant Lucie, a fallen actress but who has retained all her tone. She offers him to play the role of his mother during the internship. Lucie will become a credible double and even a kind of diabolical reincarnation. To "work on her role", she moves into Simone's apartment and Pierre gradually finds himself under her control.
