Since August 2019, the municipal gallery "Lou Babazouk" has hosted exhibitions by local amateur and professional artists. Intended to be the gallery of all talents that reveals the diversity and richness of artists, it contributes to the policy of support for cultural promotion put in place by the City of Nice. After the artists Jo Guichou, Geneviève Bozec, Tina De Rubia, Danielle Botbol, Richard Roux Giuge, Odile Bourel and Manuel Gilson, it is the artist Pascale Batteau who will present her exhibition "I love (only) Nicea la Bella" until Sunday, August 2, 2020.

Originally from the Paris region where she lived for thirty years, with a 9-year round trip to Le Havre from the 1970s, Pascale Batteau finally adopted the City of Nice at the end of 1994, welcomed by an exceptional deluge that year, which did not discourage her from making her nest there...

In love with "Nicea la Bella" and her beautiful hinterland where she often hiked, the beauty and light of these landscapes inspired her to return to her first loves: watercolour and acrylic painting, tastes inherited from her time at the School of Fine Arts in Le Havre, to which was added the passion of photography.

After several photo exhibitions taken on the Promenade des Anglais at sunrise during autumn and winter 2016, to benefit the association "Ace of Heart" created to help the victims of the attack of July 14, 2016, she felt the need to turn the page and return to watercolor to share her taste for the alleys of Old Nice , its colors of ochre and pink, and its neighborhood life that make this place one of the liveliest in the city.
