House of Associations - Nice Garibaldi
Looking for new ways to represent the world, artists of the 20th century travel or, more often, take advantage of collections of objects from distant countries to turn their creation. Formal inspiration, copy, re-use of plastic elements, integration of the object in their works... the ways of appropriation are as much fascination as irreverence. Through a selection of works, we will highlight the major influence of African and Oceanian art on creating European from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day.
