As a bandleader of David Bowie's last album, Blackstar, saxophonist Donny McCaslin has witnessed the inclination of the musician for the reinvention. With his upcoming studio album - a bold fusion of vibrant electronica and rock altitude at the time, McCaslin has applied this mindset to his own work. "Before working with him, things like this don't seemed not possible", said McCaslin about the new material, which is recognized by its peers for more than 20 years. "The affirmation of this project and how this beautifully proved artistically - I feel that anything is possible now."

The before-taste offered by McCaslin in his next feature film is "What about the Body", an explosion of improvised alternative music, created by NPR "All Songs Considered", sums up his bold new leadership.

To his single, McCaslin has recruited "Blackstar" bassist, Tim Lefebvre, "brilliant composer and lyricist" Ryan Dahle (Limblifter, Mounties), and producer Steve Wall (Lucius, Tall Heights). Mixing bright of the saxophone and the flute, the piano and the Wurlitzer, electric bass and drums pounding, capture the deep roots of McCaslin while drawing more recent influences, such as Radiohead and Bon Iver.
