How the statuary make visible the collective memory in the city?
Archives - Marble Palace
The gigantic monument to the dead of Nice was inaugurated on the quai Rauba Capèu on January 28, 1928 by Marshal Foch, ten years after November 11, 1918, the official date of the end of the first world war. Municipal Archives invites you to rediscover this book, a historical monument since 2011 and revisit the notion of monument and memorial through the ages. Dead for France, institutional memory (the centenary monument), children of Nice Grand destiny (Garibaldi), illustrious guests (Queen Victoria).
