What makes the originality of an English garden? How was it born? On behalf of what values?
The birth of the English garden is a real transformation of the ideal image of nature, in particular through a postage of geometric lines and symmetry. It will be to examine the context in order to understand the emergence of a new sense of nature that wins all over Europe. We will then look at the concrete example of one of the most famous English gardens, of Stow, which constitutes a real Treaty of aesthetics with a political satire dubbed a moral Treaty.
