At this concert, you can discover the world premiere of Martin Romberg: Fëanor.
During the concert on 29 and 30 September, during which will celebrate the 70 years of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice, two great monuments of the repertoire will be played: 1St concerto of Shostakovich, with the famous Italian cellist Enrico Dindo, and the Pathetic Symphony of Tchaikovsky. But in addition, two works will be given world premiere: nice composer Georges Gondard marching band and a symphonic work: Fëanor signed Martin Romberg.
Therefore, the program will unite tradition and innovation.
And, in terms of tradition, we will have a romantic repertoire (the last Symphony of Tchaikovsky, bringing together all the genius composer, before his death written shortly) and a modern repertoire (the Shostakovich concerto, brilliant work full of) vitality and virtuosity).
We will discover Martin Romberg, contemporary Swedish composer that to some people described as "post-romantic", which is inspired by the fantastic literature and mythology, and who presents here his work.

Gyorgy Rath gives the kickoff to the 70th anniversary of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice with an order made to the Norwegian composer Martin Romberg. It has created many works based on the universe of J.R.R.Tolkien. It seeks to highlight the sides more serious and deep of this literature and at the same time to bind some aspects of popular culture with classical music. Fëanor, the Elf of the Princely House of the Noldor appears in the Silmarillion.
The anniversary celebration will continue throughout the season during which the Orchestra will host the biggest names in music, starting with the cellist Enrico Dindo, which will offer us his interpretation of the Shostakovich Concerto. This book which is a tightrope walk by its technical difficulty will not fail to seduce the public. The Sixth Symphony of Tchaikovsky, testament to the giant of Russian music, vibrate under the baton of the new musical director of the Nice phalanx. This latest masterpiece is passed into history under the name of pathetic, subtitle given by Modest Tchaikovsky, brother of the composer due to the tormented style of the work.
