DIVINA NATURA in CIMIEZ
The sensory discovery of Cimiez and antiquity
From June 3 to September 3, 2017, the city of Nice invites you to discover the "Divina Natura in Cimiez" exhibition at the Museum of archaeology of Nice - Cimiez site.
Produced in collaboration with the association Artesens, this interactive and fun exhibition's theme the fertility of the Earth and the myths of nature in various ancient civilizations. It allows to discover from collections of the archaeological site of Cimiez and the reports that the Romans had with other large civilizations (the Celts, Greeks, Africans, etc.) through high-quality reproductions.
A first space devoted to the ruins of Cemenelum present old works from the collections of the Museum with their castings which can be explored by sighted visitors touch and lights. On the sound journey, tactile and olfactory Divina Natura created by Artesens, the key works representative of the deities in connection with the benefactors of nature forces were selected from the collections of prestigious museums. They evoke the civilization of Persia, Greece, Egypt, Celtic Europe, Africa, Mexico and Australia.
For 20 years, Artesens implements exhibitions to discover works of art belonging to our former and current heritage to children and adults, sighted and blind. Artesens has already worked with many museums (Museum of the Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, Museum national Picasso, MuCEM, Archaeological Museum of Nîmes, MAMAC in Nice, etc.) and institutions such as the Centre for national monuments.
