Come and relive the greatest sporting achievements at the National Sports Museum!

The omnisports museum unveils to the public real treasures, including the ball of the final of the World Cup 98, the bicycles of Eddy Merckx (Tour de France 1969-70-71-72 and 74) and Bernard Hinault (Tour de France 1978-79-81-82-85) and the jersey Jacques Anquetil 'yellow' (Tour de France 1957-61-62-63-64), the gloves of Marcel Cerdan (World Middleweight Champion 1948) and his last bathrobe which was embroidered by Edith Piaf, the skis of Jean-Claude Killy (triple Olympic downhill-slalom champion and Grenoble giant slalom 1968), the racket of Yannick Noah (last French winner at Roland Garros in 1983), the points of Marie-José Pérec (triple Olympic champion in the 200 and 400 meters Barcelonne 1992 and Atlanta 1996), ... Hugo Lloris's France team jersey (of which we are proud in Nice!) ... so many objects that belonged to great champions..., and thousands of photos, posters, trophies, mascots ... you understand, it is the museum of sports lovers, the museum of lovers of life.

PERMANENT EXHIBITION
The museum's permanent theme is "the challenge as a founding principle."
THE CHALLENGE ON ONESELF
It is the combination of moral and physical strength that makes great sportsmen and women. Winning the challenge on oneself means finding the balance between body and mind, overcoming your anxieties and getting to know your limits to overcome them. Followed by instruments that certify their records to the nearest hundredth of a second, athletes train to go beyond themselves and evolve their discipline. Glory is above all a victory over oneself.
This challenge sees sport as an overcoming and a quest for performance. The practice of these disciplines is usually individual. These include athletics, swimming, cycling, gymnastics, skiing, etc.
THE DEFI OF HOME A MAN
Boxing, tennis, martial arts, wrestling, fencing... only one will win! Face-to-face in the ring or over the net... This section of the course highlights a second angle of the competition: the duel. The latter gave birth to true legends, today very widely relayed by the means of planetary diffusion. From the neophyte to the passionate, who can still ignore the Federer-Nadal encounters? How can we not remember the struggles of Marcel Cerdan, whose brutal death in 1949 bereaved the whole of France ?... .
THE COLLECTIVE CHALLENGE
Team spirit, spirit of sacrifice, sport is also the place where we share values. In any collective sport, each player depends on his teammates, and therefore on the whole team. The athletes themselves admit that these collective victories bring even more intense joy than individual successes. They also make the nations vibrate, like the unforgettable year 1998 when the whole of France identified itself with the victory of Les Bleus at the World Cup of Football. Every time a national team succeeds, it's a win-win and strong country that we celebrate.
THE DEFI IN LIMITES!
Tame the sea, desert, mountain or air. Overcoming physical and physiological limits, adapting state-of-the-art technologies to equipment and equipment. Pushing the challenge beyond the limits means, for example, confronting the natural elements, crossing levels in the quest for performance, breaking down social barriers to accomplish themselves or... break the rules of sport by cheating. This last time of the course tells extraordinary stories and presents real heroes: mountain climbers, solitary navigators, conquerors of the sky, car racers, athletes with reduced mobility ... constantly defying the limits!

But also find out, before you come, about the many events that are organized there; the best thing is to call the museum.
