The provost canon of the cathedral, Honoré Rossignoli, made his will on 16 June 1646 and demanded, among other things, the intercession of St Helena.
In the codicil of his will on August 29, 1654, Provost Rossignoli donated two cens annually, bringing back 24 gold crowns from Italy to celebrate a mass each day in this chapel located on the property of his brother, the lawyer Jean Rossignoli in Carras.
It can therefore be inferred that the first chapel of St. Helena was built between 1646 and 1654. the name of the rector of the chapel is known in 1693, don Jean-Baptiste Fighiera, of Eze.
The 18th century saw the construction of rural churches.
Marc-Aurèle, son of Jean Rossignoli, senator in the Senate of Nice, bequeathed in 1711 all his property to Carras, including the chapel, to the tear-locked fathers, as well as sums of money to be used for the construction of their church and convent. The bishop of Nice Provana de Leyni having died in 1706 and his successor, Mr. Recrosio having been appointed in 1727, the legacy of Jean Rossignoli remained as it was with another bequest. It was on July 15, 1728, after obtaining the approval of the Holy See, that the Bishop of Nice decided to use the bequest of Jean Rossignoli to build the Church of St. Helena and turn it into a parish church.
The style of the bell tower seems to show that ithad to be added in the second half of the 18th century.
The church was remodelled in the 19th century.
The building was listed as a historical monument on June 25, 1951.
