The Archaeological Crypt of Nice is a huge underground room of 2000m2 comparable to that of the Louvre in Paris!.
Classified as "Historic Monument" in 2012.

You're going to travel back in time! five centuries of history, from the Middle Ages to the modernera. The oldest remains found date from the 14th century, the time of the Counts of Provence. First the cylinder of the Pairolière tower, then the aqueduct that supplied water to the gardens of the Sardinian palace, the ruins of the houses of the medieval suburb of the Augustinians, the huge 17th century San Sebastian bastion, the pillars of the bridge that leads to the road to Turin.
Commentary tours are organised daily (except Tuesdays) at 10am, 11am, 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm.
They are done in groups of up to 15 people, and last 1 hour. The meeting point for departures of visits, is Place Jacques Toja, at the entrance to the Crypt.
Bring shoes without heels for the visit.

Tickets will then be picked up at the Heritage Centre / Heritage Delegation Historical, Archaeology, Language and Culture of Nice, 1 Place Gauthier 06300 Nice, Monday to Thursday from 8.30am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm and on Friday until 3.45pm. The price of admission is 5 euros; a reduced rate of 2.50 euros is granted to students, seniors - 65 years old, unemployed, and disabled people.
