The Biot Glassworks has only partially reopened its doors during the re-start of production.
It all started in 1956, the Biot Glassworks created the bubbled glass, managing to control the bubble, to imprison it between two layers of glass, making what was originally a defect, the bubbles, a quality, the bubbled glass. In 1973, the Lechaczynski family took over Biot's glasswork and its expertise in bubbled glass.
The soul of Biot's glasses rests in its bubbles, each glass is a unique piece. With each bubble, a secret, a breath, atradition.
Biot's glassworks is labelled "Living Heritage Company."
Visit biot Glassworks! It's a good idea to go out with the family. The show is fascinating: before your eyes, work the master glassmakers who slowly, with their expert hands and their magic breath, transforms the molten glass into carafes, glasses, photophores ... .
It is also an excellent idea of gifts, the softly colored bubble dens of Biot are very well known and prized: vases, bottles, glasses, cups, pitchers, salad bowls, ice buckets, ashtrays ... it's up to you.
