The Picasso Museumoccupies the Grimaldi Castle in Antibes (Classified Historic Monuments in 1928).
Beautifully located on the seafront, on the ramparts, the Museum presents 245 exceptional works by Picasso, as well as works by important 20th century artists such as Nicolas de Stael, Fernand Léger, Hans Hartung, Anna-Eva Bergman; on the huge terrace, there is a permanent remarkable collection of sculptures by Germaine Richier, and works by Miro, Bernard Pagès, Anne and Patrick Poirier.
Picasso liked the French Riviera. He worked on ceramics in Vallauris; lived at the California Villa in Cannes in 1955, and ended his life in his final resting place in Mougins. You can follow a "Picasso road" through the Picasso National Museum and the Romanesque chapel of Vallauris, and through the Museum of Photography of Mougins...
