Yvan Gastaut historian we will travel "beyond borders" through the evocation of the most fabulous World Exposition that was held in Paris in 1900 and welcomed the countries of the world whole, grouped along the famous "street of Nations."
The universal exhibition of 1900 in Paris, rich of the sumptuous lodges, pays tribute to the century which ends and celebrates the new expected rich discoveries and technical advances.
The exhibition covers the esplanade of Invalides, the small and the Grand Palais, the banks of the Seine to the bridge of the Invalides at the bridge of Jena, the Palace of the Trocadero and its gardens, the Champs de Mars with more than 36 entry doors.
The most important door is located the Concorde square, it is overhung a figure allegorical "city of Paris", work of Moreau-Vauthier.
This event, which has received 50 million visitors, gave rise to the construction, in addition to the Grand and Petit Palais, station of Orsay, invalids and Lyon, the Alexandre III bridge, and a Ferris wheel (dismantled in 1921). The Eiffel Tower was built for the universal exhibition of 1889.
