Berenice Abbott can be considered to be the photographer of New York City. Revolutionary documentary photographer, Abbott met with Marcel Duchamp and Man Ray, two of the founders of the art movement Dada, an intellectual movement that has emerged as a protest against the absurd sufferings of war world. Dada artists have sought to question convention and tradition in the apparently absurd works presented in shows, literature and Visual arts.
