The Elisir D'amore of Donizetti is one of the most famous operas of the XIXe century. Œuvre accessible and bubbly, it is ideal to take its first steps to the opera.
Following a disclaimer in its programming, the Director of the Teatro della Canobbiana in Milan has quickly need to an opera. Felice Romani wrote then a booklet in a week (faithful layer of a french Opera Comique created eleven months earlier) and Gaetano Donizetti composed the music in barely a month. Since its creation, the opera inflamed the Italy, soon Europe and even the new world. Major piece of The Elisir D'amore , Donizetti operas seventy combines with a plot light and witty, an irresistible score featuring the traditional characters of the "commedia dell'arte" Italian, the lover, the Coquette, the swaggering soldier and the charlatan.
