In contrast to the Fluxus movement represented in Nice by Ben Vautier, Pierre Pinoncelli's artistic performance are performed, to denounce, through to some violence, and often with a physical risk-taking. To give just a few examples, in 1969, to denounce the official art, he shoots André Malraux, then Minister of culture, who came to inaugurate the Museum Marc Chagall in Nice, no to ammunition but with red paint, at the risk of getting shot by the police that protected the Minister. In 1971, protesting against the regime Maoist, it burns to soldering the cheek in front of the Chinese Embassy. In 1975, to protest against the twinning of Nice with Cape Town, during apartheid, he attack armed the Bank Société Générale to claim the cashier a symbolic franc. In 1993, to denounce the misappropriation of the dada spirit, he urinates in the fountain of Marcel Duchamp, then gives it a violent hammer; He was sentenced to one month in prison with reprieve and 286 000 francs in damages. In 2006, he again and again chips the urinal of Duchamp; He was sentenced to three months in jail suspended. In 2002, he cut in public a phalanx of the little finger with an axe by solidarity with Ingrid Betancourt to denounce the conditions of his captivity. The finger is preserved in formaldehyde a jar displayed at the Museum of Bogotá.
They are 22 performance the Niçois artist will trace, in form of new commemorative paintings on large sheets Canson, in the historical Gallery of the school of Nice, on June 24.
