Each year, in may, the Cannes Festival seizes the city and tabloids around the world.

Film industry professionals, international stars and actors become mixed with the eager crowd of images and surprising encounters.

Glitter, stars, sounds of corridors but also scandals and diplomatic affairs, the Cannes Festival is the place of attention during a half-day. Major events or anecdotes sometimes take excessive dimensions, certain facts even built his legend.

The Festival celebrates the cinema for 70 years. Over the years, the French Association of the International Film Festival was able to evolve while keeping the essential: the passion of cinema, the discovery of new talents, enthusiasm of festival-goers and professionals from around the world from contribute to the birth and the broadcasting of the films.

Cannes celebrates 70 years of Festival!
To celebrate the 70th edition of the Cannes Festival (May 17-28), the Town Hall organises throughout the year a series of activities on the theme of the seventh art.

Exceptional event, outstanding feature: logo with the effigy of the 70 years of the Festival, permanent red carpet, personalities petanque tournament, or even one exceptional days and monthly including masterclass, conference, mounted markets and projection.

At the invitation of the Festival de Cannes, Monica Bellucci has agreed to take the role of mistress of ceremonies of opening and closing of the Cannes Festival, which will be chaired by the Spanish Filmmaker Pedro Almodovar.

Cristian Mungiu, President of the Jury of the Cinéfondation and short films
Cristian Mungiu will chair the Jury of the Cinéfondation and short films, after serving on the Board of Steven Spielberg in 2013. Director, writer and producer, he succeeds in that role to Naomi Kawase, Abderrahmane Sissako, Abbas Kiarostami or Jane Campion.

Flamboyant icon of Spanish cinema and Director famous around the world, the Director and writer Pedro Almodóvar will be the next President of the Jury of the Cannes Film Festival International of Film which will begin on May 17 and will celebrate its 70th edition.
